Nosmarka - Mother of the Abyss
Model by DM Stash, 32mm size has 25mm base and 75mm size has 50mm base
Last of Mindoriel’s Spawn and that which caused the ultimate demise of the Dark Divine. Nosmarka was imbued with fire by Mindoriel, an act which ultimately led to the defeat of Mindoriel’s Spawn and the end of the Age of Creation. Nosmarka and her siblings were slain, though Nosmarka drifted into a restless sleep, where her Nocturnal Abyss and its Ten Reveries was given form. Now she projects herself onto Tharador, and though she is merely an illusory image, the power and consequences brought with it are very real.
The mother of chaos and misfortune, Nosmarka was the lastborn of Mindoriel’s Spawn, and that whose birth was so foul that it arose the ire of the Great Sun Glanion and woke Minera herself from her slumber, ultimately ending the Sibling War, resulting in Nosmarka’s death. In this death, Nosmarka was revived by her sibling Myrothlir and bound instead to a dreamstate, one of abyssal darkness, fire and suffering. It was this that would become the Nocturnal Abyss and its Ten Reveries, a place of constant suffering and malice.
These infernal planes took reality, and the beings that were born from them were wandering souls upon the plains of Minera, ensnared by the lure of the warmth radiating from the Abyss. They were reborn as Nosmeni, and were mostly ignorant of their past lives and the plains of Minera, with only a few learning the truth and finding a means of freedom. These were the Nosmeni, Children of Fire. Many of these creatures still worship Nosmarka, seeing her as their god-ancestor or holy mother. So too do anarchists, mad-men and some orcs. Though among mortals she is one that is regarded with great fear should her fires ever rise again.
