A Fire Elemi from Abunen Kolden. Scorcher found the wars of his progenitors to feel fruitless, feeling as though Vlagbinok would disapprove of his children warring among each other on the physical plane. Thus he aimed to find a better way to serve his creator on the physical plane, joining an organisation that dedicated itself to unearthing Edrador’s mysteries.

Scorcher or Merzsel as he is known in his mother tongue, is a gifted Pyromancer from the Elemi Empire of Abunen Kolden on Edrador’s western coast. Though from the ruling class of the Fire Elemi, Scorcher was disillusioned by the state of his homeland after he left his home city of Firendis to explore the greater continent. Despite never having met another Elemi than his own kind, he assumed they all shared the same lives.

Yet travelling to surrounding towns beyond the bounds of the capital did reality sink in. His Water, Earth and Air brethren lived impoverished in slums and sat under the cruel flaming fist of the Fire Elemi aristocrats that had sat in power on the council for centuries. Wishing to learn more, Scorcher travelled to Vergso Mene, a land inhabited by descendants of refugees that fled Abunen Kolden during the Fire Uprising centuries prior. It was here that Scorcher came to truly understand his God-Ancestor - Vlagbinok, or Maethromin as he is known in Tharador. Feeling as though Vlagbinok would hate the way that Elemi treat each other on the Plane of Minera, Scorcher chose to pursue unity for his people as his life goal, however naive and optimistic it might be.

He joined the Vilag Vlada Ligaja (VVL), an organisation dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of Edrador, including why it was that Elemi seemed to exclusively awaken there when they left the Elemental Plane. It is Scorcher’s hope that the answer to that would also give some sort of common cause for unity among his people once again.
